CLAUSE 02

The clauses that quietly cost freelancers money.

Payment terms

"payable within ninety (90) 14 days"

Net-90 payment, no deposit, no late-payment interest.

IP and ownership

"assigns all work, including pre-existing"

Assigning pre-existing work, losing portfolio rights.

Liability and indemnity

"liability shall be unlimited capped at fees paid"

Uncapped liability, one-way indemnities.

Termination

"terminate at any time without payment"

No kill fee, termination for convenience with nothing owed.

Scope and revisions

"unlimited revisions two rounds included"

Unlimited revisions, vague deliverables that invite scope creep.

Exclusivity and non-compete

"shall not work for any similar business"

Clauses that quietly block your future clients.

CLAUSE 03

What this is, and what it isn't.

What it is

  • A pattern review against common market norms for your contract type
  • Evidence you can check: every flag quotes the exact wording
  • Self-checking: each quote is matched against your text, and anything that doesn't match is discarded before you see it
  • A negotiation head start, in plain English, in about a minute

What it isn't

  • Legal advice, or a substitute for a lawyer on high-stakes deals
  • A guarantee. Norms vary by country, industry, and bargaining power
  • For strict-NDA documents: get permission before pasting anything confidential
CLAUSE 04

Pay per contract, only when there's something worth paying for.

  • Missing protections the contract leaves out
  • Negotiation lines and a ready-to-send reply email

If a scan comes back clean, we say so and there's nothing to buy. A review tool that always finds problems isn't reviewing, it's selling. Not sure yet? before you scan anything.

CLAUSE 05

The short answers.

Is this legal advice?

No. It's pattern matching against common norms, built to help you ask better questions. For equity, large ongoing contracts, or live disputes, use a lawyer.

Can the AI make things up?

Every flag must quote your document word for word, and each quote is checked against your text before it's shown. Anything that doesn't match is discarded, so every flag you see points at words actually in your contract.

Is my contract stored?

No. Your text is analyzed in-session by an AI model to run your scan and isn't saved by this site. Your email gets your report link and occasional contract tips, with one-click unsubscribe. Under a strict NDA? Get permission first.

Which contracts does it handle?

Freelance and service agreements, employment offers, NDAs, leases, and other commercial contracts. The scan compares your document against norms for the type you pick, read from your side of the deal. Norms still differ by country and industry, and the report says so.

How long does it take?

About a minute for most contracts. Long documents (50+ pages) can take a little longer. You'll watch it work; there's no queue and no callback email.

What if the report isn't useful?

Email support@clausecheck.co and you'll get a refund. No forms, no argument. A human reads every message.
